About the Artist
Harriet Francis is a young artist from Pulborough, West Sussex.
Whilst Harriet's major influences are Architecture and the Natural World, she enjoys keeping her style as varied as possible, as is reflected within her pieces.
Studying at Brighton College, Harriet grew to love the City's vibrant busy streets and lanes and developed an apreciation for architecture. This interest was strengthened during her years in Scotland whilst reading a Masters in Politics and Theology at the University of Aberdeen.
Harriet Francis has now settled in West Sussex, where her work has become varied and experimental. Unusually hesitant about settling on one signature style, her work varies in both context and material. She is focused on the aesthetic of the piece, saying that for her it is the process itself that holds interest. Her focus is in the various qualities of the paint rather than the subject of the image. She is currently studying Fine Art with Northbrook Sussex.
